The Consultation (First 20 Minutes)
Your chiropractor will take a thorough health history: onset of symptoms, aggravating and relieving factors, prior treatments, medications, and relevant medical history. Be specific about your pain location, character (sharp, dull, radiating), and what makes it better or worse.
Physical and Orthopedic Examination
Your provider will assess posture, spinal alignment, range of motion, and neurological reflexes. Orthopedic tests help identify the specific structures involved. If there are signs of disc involvement, fracture, or pathology, our team will coordinate imaging with Synexsis Lab on campus.
Your Care Plan
Based on the exam, your chiropractor will explain the diagnosis in plain language and propose a care plan β frequency, duration, and types of treatment. Most plans begin at 2β3 visits per week for 4β6 weeks, tapering as you improve. You are always in control and can ask questions at any point.
The First Adjustment
If appropriate that day, your adjustment will be gentle and targeted. You may hear a pop β that is simply gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking. Most patients feel immediate relief, some mild soreness for 24β48 hours. Drink water, apply ice if needed, and follow your provider's post-care instructions.
