What Is Compounding?
Unlike commercially manufactured drugs, compounded medications are prepared fresh, to a specific prescription, for a specific patient. This allows our pharmacists to adjust strength, switch out allergens, change delivery form, or combine multiple medications into a single preparation.
Who Benefits Most?
Patients with allergies to dyes, preservatives, or inactive ingredients in standard drugs. Pediatric patients who need lower doses or flavored liquids. Adults who have difficulty swallowing pills and need a topical cream or lozenge. Patients requiring a discontinued medication or a dose not commercially available.
Our Compounding Capabilities
At Next Gen Pharmacy on the Pinnacle campus, our licensed compounding pharmacists prepare hormone therapies, pain management creams, veterinary formulations, dermatology preparations, and specialty oral dosage forms. All compounding is performed in USP 795 and 797-compliant cleanrooms.
