Synexsis Lab Achieves CLIA Certification Renewal

Synexsis Lab Quality Team

Synexsis Lab has successfully renewed its CLIA certification, affirming continued federal compliance for clinical diagnostic testing.

01

What CLIA Certification Requires

The Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) program establishes quality standards for all clinical laboratory testing performed on human specimens. To maintain CLIA certification, Synexsis Lab undergoes biennial inspection of our testing personnel qualifications, quality control procedures, proficiency testing participation, equipment calibration records, and patient result reporting processes. Our lab holds a CLIA Certificate of Compliance β€” the highest designation, covering all specialty areas of testing.

02

Results of the 2026 Inspection

Synexsis Lab's 2026 CLIA inspection resulted in zero deficiencies β€” a designation earned by fewer than 18% of inspected labs nationwide. The inspection covered our hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, microbiology, and point-of-care testing programs. Our quality director, Patricia Ngozi, MT(ASCP), led the preparation and was on-site throughout the two-day inspection.

03

New Testing Capabilities

Concurrent with renewal, Synexsis Lab has added expanded infectious disease panels β€” including respiratory pathogen panels covering 22 organisms, tick-borne illness testing, and comprehensive STI panels β€” to our on-site testing menu. These were previously sent to reference labs with 3–5 day turnaround; on-site results are now available within 2 hours for most panels.

04

How This Benefits Patients

CLIA certification means your Synexsis Lab results meet federal standards for accuracy, precision, and reliability. It means the technician who processed your specimen is qualified to perform that test. It means your result was checked against quality control before it was reported. For patients, it means you can trust the number on your lab report β€” and that your Pinnacle provider is making clinical decisions on verified data.
